"I too have Log Cabin Families of Stone Mtn and know my dear greatAunt Maggie (Margaret Oleava Vannoy) is quoted as saying that hergrandfather (wife Francis Fanny Sparks) William Vannoy died in Atlantaduring the Civil War, but I have not yet found when he enrolled and withwhat company. Aunt Maggie did like to embellish a story and my dad(Oliver Myers) doubted, for instance, that she really ever had a fiance. She remained what was then referred to as an "old maid" and stayed withus when I was born, making crazy quilts with my mother. She was veryloved. I did want to let you know that her sister and my grandmotherNancy Theodosia Vannoy (not middle P.) married Julius Sylvester Myers(not Meyers). He was called Vessie. Grandmother is unfortunately notburied at Roaring River, bit at Haymeadow beside my grandfather. She didask to be buried with her sisters and one brother..." (Also see notesfor William R.
