LeClerc to the West Indiesto quell the negro insurrection at Haiti. After eighteen months ofgreat hardshuips, and the death of LeClerc from yellow fever, theywere compelled to capitulate to the English and return to France, and, after the defeat of his beloved emperor at Waterloo, he came toAmerica. He went straight to Chuillicothe, where he heard there was achance for war with the Indians. He immediately volunteered to gowith Gen. Brush to the assistance of Hull, who was threatened atDetroit. Before thwy were ready they heard of the surrender of Hull.Mitchell Dusouchet, father of F. F. Dusouchet, was born in the city ofParis and lived through the horrors of the reign of Robespierre. Hewas the father of twenty-two children - nineteen girls and three boys. F.F. Dusouchet was the twenty-first child. None of the name are nowin existance except the few in America.
We next find Dr. Dusouchet on Gen. Harrison's staff, with whom hecontinued to serve until the close of the war. He went in company ofHarrison to Cincinnati and in 1815 was married to Miss CatherineSarchet, in the presence of Gen. Harrison, Finly, and all the notablesof Cincinnati. Miss Betwey Harrison was one of the bridesmaids.Catherine Sarchet was born in the island of Guernsey, town of St.Peter's Port, in 1790. Her father immigrated to America in 1806, andsettled in Cincinnati. She died in Spencer County, KY, February 21,1881. "Patrick Dyer, parents unknown, was born in Maryland in 1680. H edied
September 14, 1724 in Piscataway, Prince George's County, Maryland .In that
county he married Comfort Barnes on October 12, 1702. Patrick Dyer is pre-
sumed to have been born in the Maryland Colony since there are no records of
him in the Early Settlers of Maryland by Gus Skordas which deals wit hthe
migrants to the Maryland Colony between its inception and the year 1680.
"There are two, possibly three Dyers who arrived before that year ,who could
be his father. All three appear to have been born in England. The yare:
Peter, who was transported in 1665; Roger, who arrived between 1675 and 1680;
and Thomas, who migrated in 1664. I feel that the last one is most likely to
have been the father of Patrick, for the following reasons: Thomas migrated
without assistance, indicating that he was a person of some means, and
financially able to attract a wife from among a few women who were i ngreat
demand; his son, or presumably his son, Patrick, named a son Thomas ,which is
in the English tradition of naming children after their grandparents...."

Charles County, Maryland, Anna Maria Neale; he married (2) in 1694, in
Charles County, Maryland, Sarah Hagoe (Hagan)....Richard Edelen purchased
and sold several large tracts of land during his lifetime but the purchase
of Lanterman from John Baptist Boarman on 12 Nov 1718 must have mad ethe
greatest impact on his life as it remained in the Edelen family for several
generations. It also caused him to move from Prince George's Count ywhere
he owned several large tracts. Another tract in Charles County whic hhe
owned by the name of "New York" lying on Back Creek on Cobb Neck in south-
ern Charles County also remained in the Edelen family for a number o fgener-
ations.
"His last dwelling plantation was "Askington" on the east side o f the
Zekiah Swamp near Newport, which was inherited by his grandson, Edward, son
of Edward, afterhis widow, Ann Craycroft, widow of Luke Gardiner, wa sde-
ceased. On this plantation the Edelen family had a chapel erected approx-
imately where St. Mary's Church at Newport now stands. This may be the
location also of his internment, if he was not laid to rest at Lantermand,
also on the Zekiah near Bryantown. It is assumed that Ann Craycroft ,his
widow, was interred with her first husband and the father of her children,
Luke Gardiner, in the family buriel plot at Warburton Manor."
