It was there thathe was married to Elizabeth ["Bettie"] Dilworth Patterson on September8, 1844. She had been born on December 22, 1827, and was a daughterof Robert C. and Malinda (Carson) Patterson. She died on September29, 1892, and was buried in the Pineview Cemetery. She and John hadtwelve children. After her death, John was married (2nd) to Nancy["Kate"] (Owens) Smith. "Martha Ellen Horner was born about 1863 and was described by arelative as being quite beautiful. She was married (lst) to Dr. JohnL. Bone on January 6, 1879, and they had at least one child who wasborn to them on September 2, 1882. The child, Luna Pearl Bone, diedon September 12, 1885. Dr. Bone died shortly thereafter and wasburied in the Bone Cemetery near the Perry-Humphreys Countiesboundary.
"After the death of her husband, John Bone, Martha Ellen was married(2nd) to her brother-in-law, Matthew J. Gray, on April 22, 1890, inHumphreys County. (See Item A, 4, g, above.) They moved to Oregon in1902 and both of them died there. They had five children: Claude,Arnold, Claytie, George, and Eloise. Arnold and George died when theywere quite young and were buried in the Wyley Cemetery at Waverly,Tennessee.

They were buried in thePineview Cemetery. They had ten children: Emma, Viola, Laura,William, Cora, Robert, Jesse, Elbert, Eva, and Ray."

"Mary Elizabeth Horner was born on October 19, 1848. On January 18,1866, she was married to John Cooper Pinkerton in Perry County. Hehad been born on October 16, 1842, and was a son of William andMargaret ["Peggy"] (Cooper) Pinkerton. He died on May 12, 1899, inPerry County.
After his death, Peggy's sons wanted to move to Western Tennessee, buttheir mother resisted because she was afraid that if she moved, shewould not be buried beside her husband in Pineview Cemetery. Shesurvived him many years, dying on February 25, 1936, and was buriedbeside her husband. She was the maternal grandmother of MinnieLancaster who has been most helpful in the preparation of thisarticle. John and Mary Elizabeth had eight children: William,Margaret, Polina, Robert, Martha Ann, Sophronia, James, and Ellen.

["Dillie'll Whitfield on December22, 1871. She had been born on February 24, 1851, and was a daughterof Thomas Jefferson Whitfield. Robert and Dillie lived in HumphreysCounty where he died on March 17, 1885. Dillie died there on June 3,1901. They had four children: Foster, Anna, Thomas ["Jack"], andRobert."

After her death, Russell wasmarried (2nd) to Sarah ["Sally"] (Patterson) Pitts on November 10,1872, in Gibson County. She was a widow with two children. She wasalso a cousin of Russell's first wife. Russell died on November 14,1882, and was buried in the Pineview Cemetery in Perry County. He andMartha Ann were the parents of eight children."

He and Sarah hadfive children before her death, which probably occurred shortly afterthe birth of their youngest child on July 28, 1889. Sarah was buriedin the Gray Cemetery in Perry County. She and Matthew had fivechildren: Russell, Edward, Gertrude, Bertie, and Mary."

"William Russell Horner was born on February 20, 1848. He took somemedical training at Nashville University and then served as anapprentice doctor on Cypress Creek in Perry County. He was married toAmanda Frances Pace on November 25, 1869, in Perry County. She hadbeen born on March 23, 1851, and was a daughter of William and Juliana(Thompson) Pace. William and Amanda moved to Humphreys County inMarch 1879 where he started a medical practice. He became asuccessful physician. Amanda died on March 21, 1936, and William diedon april 22, 1944. They were buried in the McKeel Cemetery inHumphreys County. (This cemetery was originally called TrinityCemetery.) William and Amanda had eight children: Lauretta,Margaret, John, Charles, Lelia, Lizzie, William, and Jesse."
