Allie Erwin Messer was born on October 24, 1901. He was a labor leader inand around Haldeman, Kentucky. He was married to Ouida Moore on December2, 1922. She had been born on March 4, 1906, and was a daughter of Isaacand Martha (Early) Moore. Allie was shot to death on November 3, 1970, bya neighbor who apparently had held a grudge against him for many yearsover a labor dispute. Allie and Ouida had three children: Irene Messer,Frances M.
