As stated by his daughter Stephanie Ericsson on August 15, 2012:
"My father, Sture Algot Ericsson, was born on January 7, 1918 in Copenhagen, Denmark (he was, however, Swedish and raised primarily in Sweden although his father moved their family around Europe due to his work as a mining speculator - - but his father is Swedish and his mother a Norwegian who moved to Sweden.) He changed his name when he was naturalized (an American citizen) in 1952, to Steve Algot Ericsson (he never was Steven). He moved to Ibiza, in the Balearic Island of Spain, in 1960, where he lived out the rest of his life and died in Santa Eulalia, Ibiza, Spain, on January 6th, 1981. He was an artist who painted under the name Steve II, which is how he signed his paintings. He is buried in Ibiza Town. I am the only one who can confirm this, however. We were very close and I visited him in the summers from 1972 - 1978 and corresponded regularly. All I have are these two documents for confirmation: His Naturalization Card and the Social Security Death Index."
The Naturalization Card is numbered 7018917 issued to ERICSSON, Steve Algot residing at 3829 Vinton Ave., Culver City, Los Angeles, California. Date of birth Jan 7, 1918 Date of order of admission Apr 21 1952 Date Certificate issued Apr 21 1952 by the U. S. District Court at San Francisco, California Petition No 98882 Name Changed from Sture Algot Ericsson. Alien Registration No. 2 379 443. (Signed by official). The social security death index shows Steve Ericsson, born 7 January 1918, SS# 093 16 7943, issued in New York Zip Code last residence XX755, Death date January 1981 Estimated age at date of death 63.
He married Helen Frances Quicksell about 1952 and they must have separated sometime around 1960 since their son Stanley was born in September 1960 and their daughter Stephanie states (above) that he moved to Spain in 1960 where he lived the rest of his life.
